I can officially say that I went through a 7.0 earthquake at the dog
show this morning at 8:43am. Just my luck, our show was held at what
they have deemed the center point of the big quake here in Japan this
morning.
But I'm okay, just not something I want to do again. My tent was
alongside my minivan with both scots on their grooming tables ready to
go in the ring. It was like in a movie and I thought "this is it".
My van was bounced around so much, it ended up nearly 5-6 feet from
its original position. Dogs were barking, buses were swaying and
bounching, people were screaming...it was truly a persons worst
thoughts come true. Luckily we were out in a field type area with no
buildings around, but people were forced to sit, or lean on stuff
because you could not keep your balance. One of the judges simply sat
own in the middle of his ring All cell phone lines were down because
the emergency lines take over, the toll roads were closed, trains
stopped, it was truly my deepest earthquake experience. They said we
are expected to have aftershocks for the next 10 days.
So as for results:
We got 2 Group 2's with my dog and bitch, and also the CC's towards
their championships. So all in all, it was still a successful day.
But no worries, I am safe and doing fine and so are the dogs.
